"We aim to make all supporting elements of the fair completely digital and put in place a scheme for renewable packaging by 2025."

Outline

Consideration of social impact and the environment is something quite new in the arts industry given the development of modern synthetic materials, the way that art fairs are constructed and promoted, and how items are shipped and packaged. We are always looking at innovative ways that we can improve in these areas balancing the role of new technologies.

Vision

Having already eradicated the need for wooden structures and synthetic paints in the preparation of our fairs, and switching completely to digital promotion over the last five years, we aim to make all supporting elements of the fair completely digital and put in place a scheme for renewable packaging by 2025. We also aim, through our educational channels, to encourage artists and designers, where possible, to explore the self-preparation of materials. We have some way to go in achieving our ambition but we are confident that with the right methodology it can be achieved.

Method

In order to achieve our aims, we will take these approaches:

(1) Seek to identify research, subjecting it to methodological precision and seeking to test hypotheses against their evidence.

(2) Where results are supported by empirical evidence and are methodologically sound, we will implement a strategy.

(3) Our strategies will be measured and reviewed over time and where improvements are needed these will be implemented.
